CIO Driven Mergers and Acquisitions




Post Merger Integration is the CIOs purview - design the processes of the combined entity and automate them is the objective for good reason. Two separate sets of processes and IT Organizations cannot possibly be good for business leave alone the higher cost of running such an operation. Is this the most effective use the IT Department?

There is a sense that IT must get involved up-front to really make a difference. There is an even greater realization that the scope of this early engagement must encompass ALL aspects of the merger or acquisition - not just finding synergies in IT and operations. So, how early is early enough? How deep should this involvement run? How should the CIO communicate this value proposition to their peers and the CEO? How should the CIO prepare for this new business leadership role?
