Strategic CIO

A CIO makes the case for the strategy focused Chief Information Officer (CIO). Increasingly, CIOs are being tapped for long term strategic business transformation initiatives - at the same time maintaining their day job of keeping the lights on in the IT shop - so a CIO has to be on the look-out for these opportunities or they might not foresee these business-changing opportunities inspired by strategic technology innovations. The resulting implications on their career are not very promising.
