Building a BPM Center of Excellence

This paper presents a good way to create a business process management center of excellence based upon some true and tried best practices.

The business world currently lives in a "functional" organization design i.e. the "company" or "organization" is broken into "departments" or "functions" such as "IT" and "marketing." The real world, unfortunately, works along a "process" - steps that lead to value creation. 90% of an organization's efficiency is sapped in navigating the artificial boundaries created by a functional design - chiefs and fiefdoms that are worse than Hatfield and McCoy. The talk of "business process management" is just that - talk - in the absence of proper organizational design. However, one has to work with what we have. This paper presents a good way forward - creating a business process management center of excellence based upon some true and tried best practices. Good Read!
