Researchers from the Boston College Center for Corporate Citizenship went inside eight companies and discovered it is often mid-level managers who lead efforts to integrate corporate citizenship. Some of the middle
managers have senior executive support, others scarcely any high level support. In a few of the cases, the managers
have made substantial progress in the face of daunting business downturns."
