The industrial revolution brought with it the concept of "unit of capacity". This concept was soon applied to human capital as well. Then we have spent decades - and a fortune -ย understanding that the key difference between humans and machines is in the way they want to be treated. The last century was about understanding the need to deal with humans differently. This century is about finally applying that learning. So, the concept of "unit of investment" needs to take hold but with an important caveat - this investment produces results when the unit is treated with care!
