Increasingly, CIOs are falling into the trap other business leaders have lived in for decades - focus on strategy (or "strategery" if you are a Harvard MBA.). CIOs are being told to focus on "Business IT Alignment" "IT Alignment" "IT Strategy" or "Information Systems Planning" or ... and they are jumping on the bandwagon in droves. Good for you. However, it turns out that an inherently sustainable, winning strategy is one built on much more than a brilliant "strategy." People matter. Leadership - of people that is - matters the most.
