This is how the joke goes. On the first day of work, the new manager met his predecessor who handed him three envelopes. ยThese envelopes have three pieces of advice from me. Open them in sequence, the first, second and third time you get in troubleย, she said as she left. Weeks passed till the first trouble erupted. The manager opened the first envelope that read ยblame the predecessorย. Promptly, the manager laid the blame on his predecessor. His troubles melted away. The second time around, the envelope read, ยreorganizeย. Promptly, a new organization chart was created and happily distributed. Again, the troubles were history. All was well till signs of trouble showed up once again. Eager to find a quick solution, the manager opened the third envelope. Written in bright and bold red ink was, ยmake three envelopes.ย Anyone who has taken over from someone else probably did not find this funny. Leadership and change go hand in hand. Creating a vision is step one but then comes the tough part ย implementing it. A vision and its success have only one big boulder between them: organizational culture. Those who find a way to move it, succeed. Here is the theory behind leadership and change>>
