Are IT Trends predictions or self fulfilling prophecies? In the real world, "analysts" and "journalists" predicted a real estate slump - before the rating agencies and the fed. My question is: did they cause that slump by plastering their front pages with stories of the impending demise?
IT Trends also seem to fuel a frenzy - CIOs who do not want to be last out of a burning building jump in and a perfectly fine building is abandoned. Here is the latest report on IT Spending in 2008.
